Kev chose GianMarco’s Restaurant for this milestone birthday.

Five years ago, tonight we were celebrating Kev’s previous milestone birthday with a surprise party in GianMarco’s private dining space. It was filled with friends and family, many of whom still rave about it, saying it was the best birthday party ever. And I can recall every guest who was in attendance and every wonderful bite we ate… Thank you Giani and Marco for the memory.

For today’s birthday it is just the two of us. And our favorite table awaits. And same as his previous birthday, we celebrate with a bottle of Schramsberg. We toast to the blessing of this birthday and pair with an order of Fried Fresh Mozzarella Bocconcino. This large golden ball is fried cheese heaven, highly enhanced by
house made tomato sauce with micro basil and EVO.

For entrees, Kev orders something he has never tried here before, Chicken Parmesan. And I order my favorite Shrimp Fettuccini. Both arrive steaming hot. As Giani says, “People wait for pasta. Pasta does not wait for people.” A beautiful juicy, bird from Joyce Farms is accompanied by their famous al dente spaghetti, all of which is covered with a lovely sauce, and dusted with Parm. Kev highly recommends. So next time, this dish is mine!

Ribbons of house made fettucine, lightly slathered in a creamy made to order sauce, catch Gulf shrimp in their pasta net. I know where to order shrimp in town. And GianMarco’s is among them. Not only is the shrimp’s flavor profile perfection, so is the texture and mouthfeel. And the fettuccini is fabulous as always.

For dessert we share a divine, chocoholics dream, Chocolate Tartufo. This icy chocolate ball is filled with a gorgeous house made chocolate gelato and finished with cocoa. Should have ordered one each…
