Austin Davis is executive dinner chef at The Bright Star Restaurant.

A native of Birmingham, chef Davis began his career as a sous chef at Niki’s Restaurant on 2nd Avenue in 1976.

After 14 years in service with Niki’s, chef Davis was hired as dxecutive chef at The Merritt House on Highland Avenue, which was partly owned by the Jim and Nick Koikos. Upon the sale of The Merritt House in 1999, chef Davis joined The Bright Star as executive dinner chef in 1999. In addition to his many years of working in the kitchens of The Bright Star and Niki’s, chef Davis worked closely with Jamie Shannon, executive chef at Commander’s Palace in New Orleans until his untimely death.

Chef Robert Moore has been cooking at The Bright Star since he was  15-year-old.
