Welcome to Ocean. For more than two decades, Ocean has been one of Birmingham’s most recognized dining destinations, known for its commitment to pristine seafood, refined technique, and polished hospitality. Originally opened by George Reis in 2002 in the heart of Five Points South, it quickly became a cornerstone of the city’s dining scene.
Ocean has earned consistent acclaim over the years, including multiple “Best Restaurant” and “Best Chef” honors, the Wine Spectator Award of Excellence, and thirteen AAA Four Diamond Awards.
Today, Ocean continues under the ownership of Chloe Kidd, with Executive Chef Jahaad Jackson leading the kitchen.
The menu centers around whole fish, oysters, and seasonal shellfish, alongside composed dishes that reflect a disciplined, ingredient-driven approach. Additionally, Ocean offers a curated wine program and focused cocktail list completing the experience.
