Description

In Italy the sweet life flows through the daily lives of the people, down the boulevards, past shops and squares and from fountains that grant you wishes. Little by little our wishes are coming true of sharing the sweet life with friends who share the appreciation of the charm, elegance and flavors of Italy at La Dolce Vita in Hoover.

La Dolce Vita's main dining room is a sconce lit, quaint and comfortable space is lined with Roman reliefs, above burgundy wainscoting, and winds toward storefront windows draped in the same golden color as the tablecloths. Among the reliefs are raised columns, which break the space and continue the Roman theme. The philosophy at La Dolce Vita, which also furthers this theme, is the ancient Roman motto, is “Life is short, and art is long.” Benard and Sophia Tamburello believe La Dolce Vita is an art. This is apparent not only in the ambiance but also in Benard’s imaginative presentations.

Dinner at La Dlce Vita begins with a basket of La Dolce Vita's famous bread, which is hand rolled and tied into little bows—along with a bowl of olive oil-deep enough for generous dipping. Artistic and enticing presentations bring high expectations. But chef Benard does not disappoint-the food tastes as delicious as it looks. Benard has researched and cooked Italian food all his life, yet he continues to innovate his cuisine—for it is his passion! The restaurant is also known by Birmingham metro locals for its marinara sauce made of soft Italian San Marzano Tomatoes, smashed by hand.Italian food is Benard's passion. Good food and good wine equals great company. From our family to yours, Bon appetito saluti!
